As long as I can remember, I grew up in the world of Duty Free — the iconic DFS Galleria — where beauty, fashion, and luxury were more than just displays; they were my childhood. Both of my parents worked there, but it was my mom who truly lit up the sales floor. She spoke Japanese fluently, wore her signature smile like a crown, and made every customer feel seen. That smile? It was radiant — just like her.

She was a mother of five, a full-time worker, a wife, a sister, a friend — and somehow, she managed to pour into everyone around her with grace. Watching her get ready was like watching a ritual of self-love. I’ll never forget her favorite lipstick in the perfect shade of “Rouge.” She wore it with confidence, and it brought out this unmistakable glow. When she smiled, she didn’t just light up the room — she transformed it.

My mom passed in December of 2023, but her light continues to live through me and this brand.
